... Lesa is skilled in home-based cooking, not restaurant cooking, which is an important distinction when designing for a home kitchen. She ran the Garlic & Sapphires® Cooking School for nine years, had her own weekly cooking segment on San Diego’s CBS affiliate and appeared frequently as a Television Chef on all five major networks. She was also Food Editor for San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles magazine, and wrote two award-winning cookbooks. And she has organized hundreds of kitchens, small and large; humble and grand, for people in every stage of their life, from growing family to empty-nesters.
     For more than a dozen years now, Lesa has been designing kitchens for prominent developers and individual homeowners. Her unique approach to kitchen design and many of her exceptional kitchens have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Better Homes & Gardens, Family Circle, Architectural Digest, The 2004 Better Homes & Gardens Kitchen Planning Guide and on the Home & Garden Television Channel.

Heebner’s View of Kitchen Function and Design
     Lesa Heebner’s designs do not follow the traditional “work triangle” theory that she finds causes unnecessary work, especially wasted steps. Instead, Heebner designs the spaces of your kitchen into essential “Work Stations,” surrounded by the counter space, storage and appliances you need for the tasks you perform there. It’s as simple as that! She creates these stations in traffic patterns that prevent bottlenecks. Heebner will also customize your kitchen with features designed for your interests, like a bake center, telephone/computer station, a simple or elaborate desk, a toddler’s activity drawer, or a cabinet for kid’s gear and lunch boxes. You’ll immediately recognize your new kitchen design as very practical and livable.

How Heebner Works With You and Your Team
     Lesa will begin by listening to your “wish list” and your household’s requirements. She will then sketch a number of possible renderings of your kitchen, all adhering to her “kitchens that cook” design standard. Lesa’s work coordinates with your Architect’s vision and continues the Interior Designer’s motif. She also communicates with your Contractor and Cabinetmaker to protect the accuracy of your approved plan, and can assist you in selecting the right appliances for your needs and budget. By pre-thinking the big picture as well as the details of this central point of your home, Lesa will help you avoid costly mistakes and assure you that your kitchen will be both beautiful and superbly functional!
